Common Questions About Stable Doors

To help you with your exciting new project we, at Decor, want to help you make the correct decision. Here are some of the most common questions for Stable Doors we get asked that you might find useful.

How Secure Are Stable Doors?

All of our Stable Doors that we provide have advance locking systems that are PAS24 as standard. This is fantastic for those in areas where break-ins are more apparent and if you choose Laminated Glass, if you have any glazing, this will make your doors have the sought after Secure by Design status.

Can I Have More Than 2 Horizontal Splits?

At the moment for Composite, uPVC & Timber Alternative this is not achievable but with Timber we should be able to provide you with a 3/4/5 split Stable Door but we would be unable to guarantee the security of the door due to having more than 2 sections that are split the weaker a door becomes.

What Material Should I Choose?

This is completely up to you and depends on a number of questions, such as; Do you live in a Conservation Area? If the answer is yes you would need to talk to your local council to ask what material would be accepted should you want to replace your door. Another questions is; How much could you invest? Depending on your budget we have a door to suit all pockets of all sizes! Our uPVC Timber Alternative Doors are a good compromise for those that would like Timber but cannot afford Timber prices.

Will My Stable Doors Rub Against Each Other?

We advancements in technology this should not happen for at least 10 Years, even with Timber! This is because with Timber we only provide the highest quality of Engineered Softwood & Hardwood Doors. All materials swell more than others but tolerances are built in to the doors to ensure they won't rub but will not hamper the warmth of your door due to thicker draught excluders between the door split.

As There Are More Parts Are Your Guarantees The Same?

We only choose the best fabricators of the best materials to ensure one thing; QUALITY! What this means is 2 things, 1: your doors have been tried and tested to withstand the latest of burglary tactics for security reasons and have been put under tough weather conditions to ensure that they last at least 10+ years and 2: They are not cheap. We know that there are many competitors of ours that will sell Stable Doors with cheaper materials than us to make a bigger profit but all we really want for you is a quality door that will last longer and potentially save you from buying another door for at least 25 years! We replace many types of Doors, including Stable Doors, that have only been installed within the last 5 years that have faded in colour or the locking mechanisms have completely failed on our customers which has lead to security issues and increase the negative reputation in of the double glazing industry.

What is the Most Secure Door Material?

Each material offers their own secure advantages. Timber is tough and hard wearing due to being a made from a thick block of Engineered Timber, our uPVC Timber Alternative has an Aluminium Core which has all the benefits of an Aluminium Door when it comes to strength, our Composite Stable Doors has 2 types of core: one which is Foam and the other Timber. Our Foam Composite Doors have an Engineered Ply Sheet within the core to help with security and the Timber Core is just like a Timber Front Door, when it comes to keeping you secure, due to being a thick 48mm Timber Slab. uPVC offers great value for money but still has adequate security. With PAS24 Certified Locks on all of our Doors they are as secure as money can buy at the moment.
