Tilt & Turn Windows

Tilt & Turn Windows.jpg

Let in more air and more light with Tilt & Turn Windows. The design comes from Scandinavian countries, tilt and turn windows tilt inwards for standard ventilation or turn so the window fully opens like an inwards opening door. With a robust and well designed hinge makes tilt windows easy to clean from the inside.

uPVC Tilt & Turns are most popular on higher up blocks of flats where cleaning may be hard to reach but also keeping the room as warm as possible. Aluminium is also used for this reason but are generally used where light is an issue. Due to the small frames and more glass area Aluminium is still a popular choice. Timber is mostly used in new build homes and Conservation Areas where nothing but Timber will do.

Tilt and turns are also very popular in Conservatories and Orangeries due to the hotter seasons and letting in more ventilation whilst not compromising security.

We have multiple profiles for Tilt & Turn Windows so please don't be embarrassed to ask about the differences between each of them.

Material Choices

We have 3 materials for you to choose from - Aluminium, Timber & uPVC

Tilt & Turn Colour Options

Sliding Sash Coloured.jpg

The most common way for customers to choose a colour with uPVC and Aluminium is by telling us a RAL number. This has become so popular that as well as Delux, Farrow & Ball and Little Green, Timber Windows can now be matched to RAL colours as well.

This has helped a lot of our customers as before this they were having to choose an either/or that made some customers abandon their original choice of windows and go with the next best thing.

At Decor we have so many colour options due to texture finishes on our Aluminium Windows, a realistic woodgrain effect on our uPVC Sliding Sash and Micro-Porous/Stained finishes on our Timber Windows.

We are sure there is a colour for you at Decor, but if it is really hard to make a decision Standard White will always be in fashion

More Ventilation

Sliding Sash Energy Efficiency.jpg

The biggest benefits of Tilt & Turn windows are the flexibility when it comes to ventilation and easy cleaning.

The window doesn’t need to be fully open to let air in, you simply turn the handle slightly to open the window slightly and adjust the angle, then to fully open the window for maximum ventilation you turn the handle 180° and then you can enjoy the breeze.

Being able to open them inward helps you to clean both the inside and outside easily without the risk of using a ladder or even more dangerously leaning out of the window. With our Tilt & Turn windows we have choosen suppliers whose handles have a ‘safe handle’ position, this locks the handle securely when tilted inwards, preventing it from being pushed open further.

As much as great for Ventilaition they are also a great choice for family homes with younger children as you can still ventilate the house without the danger of a child falling out of the window or trapping their fingers due to the handle being in a higher position.

Casement - Secure Window.jpg

At Decor as much as we care about the design of your casement windows, we believe security is no.1 when it comes to making that final decision. We only choose Tilt & Turn Windows that comply with the latest security measures, this helps to deflect the attempts of the most persistent intruder and stop them from gaining unauthorised access to your home.

As Tilt & Turn Windows generally go on more tower blocks not usually a target for the opportunist burglar but we still have a Multi-Point Locking Mechanism and Reinforced Frames which helps our Tit & Turn Windows conform to Secure by Design status as well, keeping your family and friends safer.

To be PAS24 Certified the windows need to be put through certain tests to ensure they can opposed the opportunist burglar, the test complies of tools such as; small and large screwdrivers, paint scrapers and different sized crowbars used to try and break the locking mechanisms, when the locks and other security features have not been broken in a set amount of time then the locking mechanism is PAS24 Certified.

We hope that ensuring our Tilt & Turn Windows complying with the latest security measures puts your mind at ease when you have Decor's Sliding Sash Windows installed.
